I am going to get nothing fucking done today because I am going to be balls deep in those lists and loving it.

Where's the science here? The Kevin Smith post you link to here has 100 fewer comments than the one you posted yesterday. I'm pretty certain some of those Pajiba Debate posts exceeded 100 comments, too. I'm just curious what constitutes "popular"?

Posted by: RobP at December 31, 2010 2:05 PM

I think probably traffic, RobP. I don't think the comments have much to do with it.

Posted by: superasente at December 31, 2010 2:08 PM

probably how often the article is 'clicked'. commenters, despite our democentricism, represent a tiny fraction of the readership

Posted by: idleprimate at December 31, 2010 2:10 PM

I'm surprised Dr. Pisaster's extremely lucid and eloquent discussion of why women don't find sexual assault jokes funny did not make the list. That was a 2010 highlight.

And seriously RobP? Your cross-referencing the lists in a manner you are trying to mask as idle curiousity? Duuude.

*you're

stupid i'm so clever post undermined by basic grammatical error

Posted by: Mrs. Julien at December 31, 2010 2:38 PM

@Mrs. Julien: I had just left a comment on the Kevin Smith post. I saw a Kevin Smith post listed here, so I clicked on it to see if it was the one I had just looked at. It wasn't. I looked at the number of comments; it was, as I said, about 100 fewer. I was confused. I asked a question. Seriously.

@superasente and idleprimate: Ah. That makes sense. Thank you for addressing my curiosity sans unnecessary snark.

Posted by: RobP at December 31, 2010 2:47 PM

more than a bit surprised at seeing 'a serbian film' in at number 9. easily one of the most fascinating reviews of the year of a film i hope never, ever to come across. besides, i wouldn't want to spoil the image left by the review Brian Prisco wrote. great review.

Posted by: ashton koosher at December 31, 2010 3:21 PM

My snark was totally necessary.

Posted by: Mrs. Julien at December 31, 2010 4:15 PM

Your derision of oatmeal raisin cookies, on the other hand...

Posted by: Slappysquirrel at December 31, 2010 4:18 PM

Those cookies had it coming!

Posted by: Mrs. Julien at December 31, 2010 4:23 PM

Sincere questions and snark are both necessary ingredients of Pajiba comments.

That's why the world is a better place for having RobP and Mrs. Julen in it.

Posted by: OldSchool60 at December 31, 2010 4:55 PM

I'm totally going to toot my own horn and say HEY! The post I did the header image for is THE MOST POPULAR OF 2010!

*ahem*

(notthatitwasthatcomplicatedbutthatsnotthepoint)

As you were.

Mrs. J. is pretty grumpy today. She has cabin fever. Next week, toiling as a minion, she will long for the days of cabin fever.

Hey, has DR ever let us know about how many unique visitors there are to the site each day? Just how self-conscious should I feel? I need to plan my day.

Posted by: Mrs. Julien at December 31, 2010 5:51 PM

Mrs. Julien, from "The Official Pajiba Dictionary": Lil’ Pajiba’s clothes and food are paid for by revenue generated mostly from creepy American Apparel sidebar ads.

If you think in terms of generating enough revenue from ads to feed and clothe a growing child, then, I'd gather to say it is a lot. More than enough to make even the most seasoned of performers a little self-conscious.

Just think of probably thousands of people viewing your PERFORMANCE ART each and every single time you post.

But, you know, don't stress TOO much about it.

Posted by: Slappysquirrel at December 31, 2010 6:13 PM

I'm going to keep telling myself it's just us.

Posted by: Mrs. Julien at December 31, 2010 6:15 PM

Those cookies had it coming!

Posted by: Mrs. Julien at December 31, 2010 4:23 PM

What did those poor cookies ever do to you, Mrs. J? No, I think it is you who are prejudiced. That knowledge has shaken my world view.

Posted by: Uriah Creep at December 31, 2010 9:06 PM

I am going to get nothing fucking done today because I am going to be balls deep in those lists and loving it.

This.

Over three hours of pure, unadulterated Pajiba pleasure. Just a small slice among the fascinating things I have gleaned during this time of wonderment and discovery:

-My body type: AVID READER.
-Ginger boys are hobgoblins and should be drowned at birth
-I spend an inordinate amount of time in my bunk, but so do the rest of you, you filthy, self-abusing debasers

Posted by: annettosaurus rex at January 1, 2011 9:26 PM

All debase are belong to us.

Do I win a prize Dustin?

And can I make a speech? Excuse the over-indulgence (being English and all, I really hate to blow my own trumpet!) but I must take a little moment to bask in the glory and reflect on a list that really is beyond my wildest dreams.

I've been an ever-present lurker on here for the best part of 5 years and if someone would have told me a year or two back that I would be topping this list I would have slapped them in the face and sent them off to a mental institution. It's kind of amazing how things work out. So a big thanks is in order to Smokin, Laredo, and Jelinas for their brilliant ideas and Dustin and Pajiba for letting little old me grace these wonderful pages in the first place.

And not forgetting Nadine and Luker for originally bringing me out from the shadows with their Wall-E idea, without which none of this would have been possible. So cheers! It's been a real blast and I've enjoyed every minute of it.

I will never ever ever ever get tired of that Greatest Insults video. Ever.
