Last thanksgiving, I was helping my grandma carve the turkey and she was telling me to cut deeper. So I started saying "Kirri kirri kirri" and it was obvious which of my relatives had seen Audition, because they ate less.

    And no Army of Darkness?

Posted by: shanmarie at October 27, 2010 2:25 PM

Yaaay! I got a new computer that actually lets me watch videos!

I still want to be HH when I grow up.

Posted by: Anna von Beav at October 27, 2010 2:26 PM

That was absolutely brilliant. The only one I thought may be missing was The Exorcist's "Let Jesus fuck you!"

Posted by: admin at October 27, 2010 2:35 PM

EEEEEEKKKK! Holy crap - I had to take a break mid-way...freaking Candyman, Damien, Deliverance?!?! (shudder)

Posted by: replica at October 27, 2010 2:36 PM

    Another great hh compilation. Bravo

Although, where was "AHHH! NOT THE BEES!! NOT THE BEES!!!"?

Posted by: Fredo at October 27, 2010 2:41 PM

They're suppose to be scary, Fredo, not hilarious. It says so in the intro.

I'm with the first couple of posts, I can't watch this til I get home :-( can somebody post the quotes? a'la the "other famous quotes" post that listed the quotes along with the video? That way we can ALL enjoy that we like the same quotes right now and not 3 hours from now.

What about in Lost Highway when Bill Pullman is on the phone with the scariest man alive... no blinking and no eyebrows= creepy as shit.

Okay guys. What if all this time, the "J" in "Pajiba" has been silent. I mean I wouldn't know. I've never heard anyone say the word "Pajiba" aloud. You guys should change your website to "PAYIEEBA" and we will call ourselves "Payieebans".

Posted by: TKBeast at October 27, 2010 3:39 PM

Ohhh Ohh, or Robert Mitchum in Night of the Hunter- Chilldren, Chilllllldren...

Posted by: Betty at October 27, 2010 3:44 PM

    I was fine until Audition.

    FUCK.

Posted by: sailboat at October 27, 2010 4:12 PM

Damn good list. There were several I think were left out but horror movies seem to be pretty damn quotable when they are good so that's not surprising. "2001" was a weird inclusion though.

Posted by: TylerDFC at October 27, 2010 4:45 PM

I think the creakiest moment in Carrie is when the mother is holding her near the end and says "let's pray--one...last...time..."

    Chills.

And this compilation is great, but I saw Salem's Lot as a kid and it scared the shit out of me, was hoping to see it here.

Posted by: Snuggiepants at October 27, 2010 5:05 PM

I meant creepiest, not creakiest. Stupid autocorrect.

Posted by: Snuggiepants at October 27, 2010 5:06 PM

Fun game: Go down the list and try to guess the quote before even starting the video. I'll settle for that, because I ain't watching this one at work.

Posted by: Mario Speedwagon at October 27, 2010 5:06 PM

This is incredible and props to Harry for this very meticulous and well documented collection. I came away creeped the hell out and very impressed.

And would you please make a top Cinema Heroes compilation for god's sake?

Posted by: frank (aka frank_247 aka the lone Scotsman) at October 27, 2010 8:10 PM

What's with all the It love? Do people actually find that movie scary?

Admittedly the book scarred me for life, but no so much the clown as the uncomfortably graphic sex scene at the end.

Posted by: Irving Washington at October 27, 2010 8:36 PM

I really want to watch this but don't think it's a good idea before I go to bed. I had too little sleep last night with the crying 18 month old keeping me up half the night, so no need to purposely set myself up for another sleepless evening. I'll take it for a spin in the morning. Can't wait to watch. . .

Posted by: prairiegirl at October 27, 2010 11:06 PM

Can I take it Harry from your inclusion of so much Tim Curry (can't say the character's name,.. shudder... sob... ahem) that clowns make you cry like a small, scared baby, like me?

    Also kudos on Pinhead, legend!

Posted by: captainfireypants at October 27, 2010 11:13 PM

This is some sick list! thanks for this

    Posted by: top10 at October 28, 2010 2:50 AM

The first few minutes were okay, then it got better. And better. And better. I don't know when the big, stupid grin appeared on my face, but hh has done it again. Masterful stuff, buddy.

Posted by: Kballs at October 28, 2010 8:37 AM

Can I assume "They're coming to get you, Barbara!" is in there?

    OK, let's have a look ...

    YESSSSSSS!!!!

    Posted by: , at October 28, 2010 10:05 AM

Hell yes the IT clown scares me...but, i hate all clowns, their smiley faces with the evil lurking underneath *shivers*. Great list! My kids are finally old enough to start horror movies, so glad you added the classics.

Posted by: Willow at October 28, 2010 10:44 AM

I love the inclusion of Se7en in there "What's in the box???"
By that point of the movie, I was a mess.

Posted by: Spaghatta Nadle (formerly popejenn) at October 28, 2010 1:27 PM

loved seeing 'Audition' get some love. That bitch is so eerie with her 'kiitttyyy kitttyyy' noise.
Would've liked to see some more hardcore horror movies, most of them were suspense/thrillers.

Posted by: BrandonBombay at October 28, 2010 2:55 PM

I can't hear this beast (I bought a new monitor but it hasn't arrived yet), but if "Yeah, they're dead, they're ... all messed up" isn't in there, it's a deal breaker.

    Posted by: , at October 28, 2010 2:58 PM

dont a couple of kids kill Pennywise, with a goddam slingshot? yeah he inspires alot of fucking fear, especially when a 4 year old can shoot you to death with pieces of silver, some rubber bands, and a piece of wood. should've put the predator from the predator movies in there. before those god awful AVP movies, you could be legitimately scared of them, because you cant see them sneaky bastards. plus they are very ugly.

Posted by: Taylor Kozakar at October 28, 2010 10:30 PM

Long time reader/lurker, first time poster. That was amazing. A couple more from the only film that ever REALLY scared me:

"Your mother sucks cocks in Hell."
"Why you do this to me, Dimi. Why?"

Posted by: Brent at October 29, 2010 8:52 AM

    Interesting.

Posted by: Kahntahmp at October 29, 2010 9:07 AM

Oh, god damn it. My first post and it contains a typo. Typical.

    *Dimi?

Posted by: Brent at October 29, 2010 9:12 AM

God. i wish I could reply to the above commenter who mentioned the scene in Lost Highway, for I love him/her.

But yeah... "I'm in your house right now..!..... Call me..." should definately have been included on this list.

Posted by: Magus at October 29, 2010 2:52 PM

Am i the only one who wishes every time he watches The Shining that somehow, some way, they've recut the movie and Shelly Duvall gets a brutal death about 40 minutes in? I can't fucking STAND that woman. She absolutely RUINED Muppet Fairy Tale Theater. Skinny enough to snap in half with a flick. Eyes sunken in like a dead fish. Teeth like she enjoys the occasional brick sandwhich. Ugh. And she can't swing a bat for shit and holds the fucking butcher knife during "Here's Johnny" like a fucking muppet. Seriously...her arm moves like she's Grover.

Posted by: PissBoy at October 29, 2010 3:43 PM

Great list. Can't wait for the sequel. The most glaring omission for me was from Phantasm: "You think you go to Heaven when you die? You come to US!!!"

Posted by: David at October 30, 2010 2:37 PM

Mr L and I watched this together - he correctly identified about 75% of the movies, testament to his ill-spent youth. As our Hallowe'en night fare is the remake of Godzilla (it's on cable; we're not really watching it) this was sorely needed.

Also, I thought the film version of IT sucked, but I'd forgotten how terrifying Tim Curry was. Totally how I pictured the you-know from the book (see, I can't even type the word now).

Posted by: lingli at October 30, 2010 6:56 PM

I had to watch it again just for the Christian Bale line.

Posted by: dainzo at October 30, 2010 7:00 PM

Finally watched this, as I wanted to save it for Halloween weekend. Good show as always, Mr. Hanrahan.

Posted by: DarthCorleone at October 30, 2010 11:50 PM

I'm dying to watch this, but can't in China. Sad face。

Posted by: Pork Bowl at October 31, 2010 12:06 AM

man, i was about to call u out about the lack of argento, but at least u got one in there right at the end. i guess argento is more about amazing visuals than scary dialogue though.

just watching that reminds me why i fkn love horror films so much. awesome.

Posted by: jza at November 5, 2010 4:23 AM

You seriously left off Dead Alive?

Posted by: SteveThreePO at November 5, 2010 3:15 PM

You missed the line from Phantasm II. "You think that when you die you go to heaven. You came to us, when you die..."

Posted by: Alderbaran at November 5, 2010 11:48 PM

That was an amazing video, great job!

The only line I would have added, since you have Hellraiser up there was "Jesus wept", I'm not even sure what it means but it creeped me the hell out.

Posted by: Carmen at November 7, 2010 7:45 AM

Awesome list, I was thinking back to all the horror movies I loved growing up, and realised a vast majority of Hammer films aren't all that quotable apparently.(And lets be honest, my namesake is a place in Five Million Years to Earth) Though two quotes I would have added
"It takes all sorts of critters, to make farmer Vincent's fritters"-Motel Hell
"Thrill me" -Night of the Creeps

Toshiba Netbook NB 305 Sound Traumas? Here's my problem:Manged to get a Toshiba Netbook NB 305 a week ago. It uses Glass windows 7. My sound outside the speakers is either really quiet or no sound in any way! Also, my mic is incredibly sensitive (even a light tap to the keyboard is very loud) plus turns on and off of at random times. Right now to hear the mic, I had to plug in our earphones. Even worse, my mic can detect sounds which are 'on' the laptop but not sounds only a foot away! I haven't downloaded or installed anything yet because I keep asking if it's worth beforehand. Any ideas? Thanks!

This is missing my favorite horror movie quote. From Jeepers Creepers when they run over the monster and the brother ask if it's dead, and the sister says, "They never are" reves engine and runs over monster again. :D

Hellraiser 2: "And to think...I hesitated!"

Army of Darkness: Practically any line at all.

Posted by: Keith at October 31, 2011 3:49 PM

Dawn of the Dead fail, the best line in that movie is, "The only person who could miss with this gun is the sucker with the bread to buy it." Otherwise a great video.

The caretaker's wife in The Haunting: "No one will come for you. In the night. In the dark."

Angus Scrimm in Phantasm: "You think you go to Heaven when you die? You come to US!!!"

Gage Creed in Pet Sematary: "First I play with Judd, then Mommy came, and I play with Mommy. We play Daddy! We had a awfully good time! Now, I want to play with YOU!"

Captain Rhodes in Day Of The Dead: "Choke on 'em! Choke on 'em!!!"

The beauty of this fine video? Sequels!!!

Okay, I have definitely got to watch Suspiria now. Somehow, that one has escaped me. I watched that entire (awesome) video quoting along with the lines, admiring how Harry had made them flow together - and then, the last clip actually fucking unsettles me. Like, I felt my heart suddenly aspire to lodgings closer to my Adam's Apple.

So clearly, these videos? Entertaining and educational.
