Joe Biden Says Taylor Swift's Potential Endorsement Is Classified

The Super Bowl has come and gone. This year, it was accompanied by a host of conspiracy theories. No, they weren’t about how the NFL was using race-based testing when it came to concussions. That was a real thing that was happening (which was largely ignored). Instead, people were spinning their wheels about a relationship between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. In these people’s minds, the relationship was a government plot that went all the way to the top!

Yes, there are living, breathing human beings who believed that Taylor Swift was dating Travis Kelce to get more Americans vaccinated and voting Democrat. Some claimed that a Super Bowl win by the Kansas City Chiefs would result in Swift greeting him on the field, raising a Communist flag in the air, and urging her impressionable fans to vote Democrat (she did endorse Biden in 2020). The Chiefs did win, and while Swift did not use the opportunity to “corrupt” America’s youth, President Biden (or at least his social media team), decided to throw some gasoline on the fire.

Biden(’s team) took to Twitter and dropped a Dark Brandon meme to troll the conspiracy theorists. Last night, he appeared on the 10th Anniversary of Late Night with Seth Meyers (go, Seth!). While there, Meyers pressed him on Swift’s potential endorsement. The President turned to Dark Brandon again by popping on some sunglasses and saying that information about him and Swift is “classified.”

It’s a delightful interview. Biden knows how to handle these kinds of junkets. He’s laid back and having fun. He cracks a couple of jokes. There’s clearly an admiration he has for Meyers and Amy Poehler (who introduced him). Still, my favorite moment comes at the beginning when he goes out of his way to say hi to Fred Armisen who is seated at the drums. It would have been an all-timer if he was eating ice cream as well.
