Rob Schneider’s support of the GOP has been loud and proud. He made a big deal out of switching parties. The Hot Chick star made headlines for doing so. In 2013, Schneider said, “The state of California is a mess, and the super majority of Democrats is not working. I’ve been a lifelong Democrat, and I have to switch over because it no longer serves the people of this great state. … The last time I made a movie was seven years ago, and that’s because we’re not being competitive.”
So, just to be clear, the actor saw his career drying up and decided it was time to appeal to a new audience. The audience he chose is big on fighting cancel culture. Right-wingers believe that you should be able to say whatever you want, whenever the hell you want (I did it too, see?). Their culture wars are driven by speech that is free of consequences. Well, that’s what they claim, anyway.
According to a report from Politico that several outlets have picked up, Schneider performed at a networking event for Republicans. His set was supposed to last 30 minutes but only went 10. The reason? Schneider was kicked off stage for being too offensive.
That’s right! The anti-cancel culture party canceled Rob Schneider. According to Politico’s sources, Schneider made a joke about “Korean Whore Houses” during his “gross and vulgar” set. Cindy Hyde-Smith, a Republican Senator from Mississippi, left before Schneider was yanked off stage. If what you’re doing is too offensive for someone from Mississippi, you know you f***ed up.
Attendees were sent an apology email after the night’s events. Schneider’s camp did not respond when asked for a comment. My guess is because he’s now stumping for RFK Jr., and anything he could receive an email on would be riddled with 5G. You can’t have that on the campaign trail. There’s a chance Schneider has learned at least one lesson from the incident: if you’re going to make a joke about whore-houses, at least make sure Newt Gingrich is in the audience.
