Once upon a time, I prided myself on having a strong stomach and an immunity to Hollywood violence. And then I watched The Boys and realized I had grossly underestimated Hollywood’s ability to creatively dismember people.

Brought to you by the creators of The Boys, and based on The Boys comic book story arc “We Gotta Go Now” by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, Gen V promises more gore, more violence, and more quippy one-liners than the original series. Are you ready? Probably not! Seriously, send the kids (and your bosses) out of the room for this one.

Godolkin University is named for John Godolkin, an antagonist in The Boys comic series, who we haven’t met in the show yet. He was the founder and leader of a superhero team called The G-Men. He’s a parody of Charles Xavier and his team is a parody of The X-Men. Somehow Godolkin is an even worse person than Homelander and there’s a good chance he’ll be introduced during Gen V. So buckle up for entrails, viscera, bodily fluids, and irredeemably awful actions.

According to The Boys’ wiki:

Godolkin would abduct children from their families and sexually abuse them since childhood, forcing them to detest him yet remaining loyal otherwise. As such he would have members who revealed the truth killed on his orders and later reanimate them

It makes perfect sense that they’d name a university after him. I’m sure that nothing but good things and good people will come from that program.

Gen V stars Jaz Sinclair and Chance Perdomo (Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina</em>), Lizze Broadway (Ghosted), Shelley Conn (Good Omens Season 2</em>), Maddie Phillips (Teenage Bounty Hunters), London Thor (You), Derek Luh (Shining Vale), Asa Germann, Patrick Schwarzenegger (Moxie), Sean Patrick Thomas (Till), Marco Pigossi, Clancy Brown (Highlander), Alexander Calvert (The Edge of Seventeen), and Jason Ritter.

It premieres on Prime Video on September 29th.
