Judge Rules that Donald Trump Violated His Gag Order

Judge Juan Merchan, the judge overseeing Donald Trump’s hush money trial in New York, has ruled that the former President violated his gag rule on multiple occasions. The judge has ordered Trump to pay $9,000 in fines, which honestly isn’t even a slap on the wrist. It’s more like an awkward finger brush.

That said, that is all that the prosecutors asked for, along with a warning to Trump that subsequent violations could result in jail time. The judge gave that warning and ordered him to remove the offending Truth Social posts. Merchan also told Trump and his attorneys that reposts do violate the gag order and to think otherwise is “counterintuitive and absurd.”

The criminal trial — the first ever against a former President — continues today with the questioning of Gary Farro, a banker who helped Michael Cohen open the account that he used to pay Stormy Daniels.

Aside: I wonder what Donald Trump looks like without the makeup? I picture Darth Vader after he removes the helmet.
