Katy Perry & Justin Trudeau Broke Up Because of You Nosy Jerks

Katy Perry has been having a bit of a rough year. Her trip to space was widely mocked for being a girlboss joy ride, a damning report came out about her Las Vegas residency, and her years-long engagement to Orlando Bloom came to an end. However, things turned a corner in late July when Perry was photographed having dinner with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. He was later spotted at one of her concerts, and it seemed like these two impossibly beautiful creatures were about to bang all over Legolas’ ashes.

Not so much.

According to the Daily Mail, this maple syrup lovefest was over as soon as it started. Celebrities, they’re just like me?

‘I know for a fact that Justin wasn’t thrilled about the pictures getting out,’ the source said. ‘It was a first date. A first date! And these pictures came out and it became this huge thing, which is not what he seems to have wanted.

‘Katy didn’t seem to care nearly as much, but he was the one who was bothered. It didn’t chase him away or anything, but it wasn’t ideal.’

Apparently, Trudeau was not prepared for the constant paparazzi attention, which really shouldn’t have come as a surprise. The two reportedly texted for most of July, so she probably said something along the lines of, “Hey, btw, I can’t take a leak without the paparazzi watching.” I know how Katy Perry talks.

“She’s busy, he’s busy,” the Daily Mail’s source said. “They have a lot going on, and the newness has worn off. But there’s nothing negative about it. They just aren’t in constant communication anymore. That could change, but for now, it is what it is. It has cooled off.”

Welp, that was fun(?) while it lasted. Now, to go back to hoping Trudeau and Ivanka Trump never get together, or this administration won’t just invade Canada, it will goddamn nuke it.
