Look, I read the comments. I know what you all are talking about, and to be frank, I’m sick of almost every article I pour my blood, sweat, and tears into being hijacked for the same topic, over and over again.
So, I’m giving up, and giving in and have decided to tackle what none of you can stop talking about: Does Tom Cruise believe in ghosts?
Let’s get to it, shall we?
Fact: 52.3% of Americans believe that places can be haunted by spirits. So it’s a slightly better than 50/50 chance out the gate that he does. This is Pajiba though, and we deal in absolutes when it comes to celebrities and their belief in paranormal.
Fact: Scientologists believe in past life experiences, and that “man” exists outside of the body (you can find out more at the official Scientology website, but, uh, let’s not link to them today, shall we?) Tom Cruise is famously an adherent to that group, and their dogma does not prohibit the belief in ghosts. The plot thickens.
Fact: Two of his homes are alleged to be haunted. First, the home he rented in Beverly Hills is “creepy” and others who lived at the address report hearing noises. Secondly, his long-time Colorado ski retreat is said to be haunted by the shadowy figure of a woman, who could be none other than the ghost of May “Trixie” Green. This oddly specific allegation is outlined here with literally no supporting evidence, but Cruise hasn’t denied it, so clearly there may be some weight to this rumor.
Ok, sure, you add up all the circumstantial evidence, and we’re painting a fairly lukewarm picture of how Cruise could (possibly) believe in ghosts, but that’s not good enough. We need to put this matter to rest once and for all. To do that, we need to look no further than to Rob Lowe.

Rob Lowe is perhaps the most famous ghost hunter of all time. Additionally, he still refers to Tom Cruise as “our good friend.”
Our? Sure, this could be Lowe’s attempt at congenial writing, or it could also be an allusion to Cruise (and his) constant connection to the spirit world—that the ghosts Lowe has hunted are always with him, thus “our.” What do you find more likely?
Exactly.
If Cruise felt strongly that ghosts weren’t real, surely that would drive a wedge between him and Lowe (who has made ghost hunting part of his career and professional identity.) The fact that they still seem to be on, in the very least, friendly terms is evidence enough of what you’ve all been speculating for quite some time.
So yes, it is highly likely Tom Cruise believes in ghosts, although that will never be an absolute until the man confirms it himself. So I’m afraid our vigilant watch continues for another night.
Until next time, friends.
