I feel like I should be sitting on James Gunn’s lap for storytime (but that would be very wrong). The Guardians of the Galaxy director explains Baby Groot’s physical evolution in a clip from the upcoming Blu-Ray extras. If you didn’t already know, Groot’s groovy dancing was based on director James Gunn himself:
“Baby Groot dancing is 100 percent me…I was too embarrassed for anyone to be there, so I made everyone leave the room and I set up a camera and I videotaped myself dancing. Then I sent the video to the animators and had them animate over that. “

Guardians of the Galaxy is out on DVD/Blu-Ray December 9th.
