Middling though it was, 1997’s I Know What You Did Last Summer was something of a cult classic, in part because of a hell of an impressive ’90s cast: Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe, Freddie Prinze Jr., and Johnny Galecki. The Amazon TV series is likewise based on the Lois Duncan YA novel, although I have no idea how it’s going to manage to survive a case of bloat.

It follows the same story: A group of teenagers accidentally run over someone in a fatal car accident and vow to take the secret to their graves, and someone knows what they did and is determined to get them into their graves post haste. It looks like a CW horror series, and the cast is, well, less impressive. It stars Madison Iseman, who plays Bethany Walker in the new Jumanji movies, Brianne Tju, probably best known for the Scream series on MTV, and a number of other lesser-known actors (Ezekiel Goodman, Ashley Moore, Brooke Bloom).

Unless Jennifer Love Hewitt is revealed to be the killer, I’m not that interested.

I Know What You Did Last Summer premieres its first four episodes on October 15th, and episodes will air weekly afterward.
