‘Vanderpump Rules’ Alum Faith Stowers Suing Network for Racial Harassment

In the midst of the long-overdue racial reckoning that was 2020 in America, Faith Stowers of Vanderpump Rules seasons four and five—the same woman who was wrapped up in the cheating scandal that almost ruined the now officially ruined relationship between Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright—singlehandedly took down Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute, two of the most heinous villains to ever exist in the Bravo universe.

During an Instagram Live, Stowers told her audience that in 2018, Schroeder and Doute called the police to report her for a crime she did not commit.

“There was this article on Daily Mail where there was an African American Lady. It was a weird photo, so she looked very light-skinned and had these different, weird tattoos. They showcased her, and I guess this woman was robbing people. And they called the cops and said it was me. This is like, a true story. I heard this from actually Stassi during an interview,” Stowers said during the Live.

The interview she refers to was an appearance by Schroeder on the “Bitch Bible” podcast, but she also made plenty of racist remarks on her own podcast, which resurfaced. Both Schroeder and Doute were fired from the show and issued typically lame Instagram apologies (Doute has since deleted hers), but were they cancelled cancelled? Not really. Schroeder wrote a book about it and continues to podcast. Doute is now on the VR spinoff, The Valley, crying about how being called a racist was the worst thing that ever happened to her while lobbing the accusation at others, including a woman of color.

And Stowers is suing Bravo’s parent company, NBCUniversal, for harassment. She makes several claims in the lawsuit, including one that LaLa Kent, who is still on the show, held a knife to her neck and threatened to “cut a bitch” during filming. She further claims that she told Lisa Vanderpump herself about the incident, who threatened to have her fired if she couldn’t continue to film with Kent, as well as an exectuive producer, who discouraged her from reporting it to the police. She says she was paid $5,000 for her time on season four and was demoted to “volunteer” for season five.

The stuff with Schroeder and Duote is in there, and she calls their firing “An astonishingly cynical act of performative allyship.” She also says they “accused her of going AWOL from the military.”

“NBC and Evolution clearly believe that workplace safety rules, employment laws, and basic decency do not apply to those in reality TV. Vicious assaults, racist harassment, and impugning the service of veterans are apparently acceptable to NBC and Evolution for the sake of ratings. Faith did not know what kind of cesspool she had found ehrself in and reported this unlawful behavior to her superiors. In response, she was demoted to ‘volunteer’ and stripped of her already meager compensation,” the claim to HR reads.

This is the latest in a string of lawsuits against Bravo and its affiliate companies.
