Former Vanderpump Rules and future The Valley stars, Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright, announced their separation this week on their podcast, “When Reality Hits.” They have been married for four years.

“Many of you guys have been asking me about Jax and I and our relationship,” Cartwright said. “I just think it’s important to be real and honest with you guys because our life is definitely—we’ve shared so much of our life with you guys. So, I feel like…I don’t want to seem like I’m lying or anything like that so I think it’s important for me to say this.”

“Yes, marriages in general are very hard and I’ve had a particularly rough year this past year. Jax and I are taking time apart and I made the decision to move into another home to take some space for the sake of my mental health.”

“I don’t know what the future holds, but right now my focus is on being the best mom to Cruz,” the child they share, “and I love you guys. Pray for us and everything will be just fine. We’re good,” she concluded.

44-year-old Taylor met 35-year-old Cartwright at a Vegas bar in 2015. Taylor was the “number one guy in the group” on Vanderpump Rules at the time, and we watched as he dragged Brittany around West Hollywood for a while until his bouts of infidelity and generalized maniacal behavior led them to Splitsville in 2017.

They eventually reconciled and got married in 2018, and now they’re set to star in the new Vanderpump spinoff, The Valley, as one of a handful of happily married couples living in the same Los Angeles neighborhood.

They released the podcast episode announcing the separation yesterday, and that same night, Taylor told Page Six “This is not divorce,” and “She was in a house for a while, but yeah, she’s back now.”

Once again all the good drama happens off camera!
