There is no part of my body that I would want to be marked forever. I get why people like tattoos. I’m often impressed with the time and pain that people will go through to get elaborate tattoos. Some people I’ve been in awe of work for this site. It’s just not for me. I don’t have the patience, and I know I would pick something dumb I would later regret. In high school, I wanted a combo Batman/Superman symbol between my shoulders and Homer Simpsons’s head on my bicep.

All that said, I will do a lot for my art. I’ve skipped celebrating my birthday to do a show. I once shaved my head to present more as balding and kept it that way for over a week. There are shows I do several times a year where I get far too drunk. That’s something Seth Meyers and I have in common. Our similarities end there because I would never get a tattoo for a show. Meyers did.

Meyers and Dua Lipa went day drinking in December, and much fun was had. However, it all ended a bit early. Meyers offered Lipa a chance to do shots of water instead of more booze, and she declined. Then, she fell asleep in the bathroom. She went into detail while sitting with Seth.

To make up for the session ending early, Seth and Dua decided to do some of the things they said they would do while drinking. That included doing more shots and getting matching tattoos. While Seth did agree to the act, you can tell how visibly uncomfortable he is with getting marked for life. Even with the affable tattoo artist Bang Bang, Seth still seemed apprehensive. I get it.

Bang Bang did a bang-up job (nailed it). As silly as it may sound, I was impressed with his ability to do tiny little stars (a shape Dua chose at the last second) so well. I’m sure he does much more complicated designs, but I thought the simplicity was nice. I’m not getting one any time soon, though.
