It’s been a long-running joke around these parts that I love a good Hole show. Dan and Tori even bought me a hat that said “Watching Holes” on it that I can’t wear anywhere without the threat of arrest. That hole obsession began with Outer Range, a Prime Video series I legitimately liked. The first season was weird and off-the-wall, but they tried to rein it in for the second season, which I thought was to its detriment. It was still one of the more interesting series on television, which obviously means it’s been canceled. It was too good for this world. For those who may still be interested, the second season finale acted as a fairly decent series finale, bringing everything full circle (while still leaving some open questions).

For fans of Evil, the fifth — and supposedly final — season is going terrifically, as the series is not only as good as ever but has been picking up viewers thanks to its run on Netflix. Now, it’s one of the top series in streaming. Its star, Katja Herbers, thinks that’s reason enough to renew it for another season. I agree. I love this f**king show.

I don’t know that most people really understand how much content Apple TV+ produces. It’s close to a Netflix firehose of content, so much that a lot of it goes completely unnoticed. Take Make Or Break, a surfing docuseries that has just been canceled. I’d never heard of this show. It ran for two seasons. Meanwhile, I have heard of The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin, but there’s only so many Apple TV+ series I can watch, and I watch a lot. That series has been renewed — I feel like a lot of the Brit series on Apple TV+ earn most of their popularity overseas (see also: Trying). Anyway, this is Noel Fielding series. I like Noel Fielding on GBBO and loved him on Taskmaster, but I’m not ready to watch him play a fictional version of a popular British historical figure that I’d never heard of.

On to some quick casting updates: Remember High Potential, that Kaitlin Olson series we’re all very excited about? We all agreed, remember? No takebacks! Now there’s more reason to be excited because Garret Dillahunt has joined the series from Drew Goddard, who already also has Judy Reyes on board.

Elsewhere, Jeremy Irons has joined the cast of The Morning Show. He’ll be playing the father of Jennifer Aniston’s character because what that show needs is more recognizable faces. We recently mentioned the forthcoming Showtime series, The Agency, starring Michael Fassbender. Now, Richard Gere has jumped aboard in a rare television appearance.

Get a load of the cast for Sirens, a forthcoming Netflix limited series from Maid creator Molly Smith Metzler based on her play Elemeno Pea: Julianne Moore, Milly Alcock (House of the Dragon), and Meghann Fahy (The White Lotus), Glenn Howerton and Kevin Bacon. I’d tell you what the show is about, but does it matter? Who is not going to watch with that cast?
