A ‘Love Is Blind’ Contestant Was Engaged Right Before Being Recruited for the Show

Love Is Blind season 6 contestant Jeramey Lutinski has addressed the rumors that he was engaged to another woman while applying for the show.

“I want to quickly address the story that’s going around about my previous engagement prior to Love Is Blind. Anybody that I was on dates with, my cast mates, and in multiple interviews, this topic was discussed. Nobody is surprised by this. It was something that was well documented. Unfortunately, with all the footage that is captured, not all of it makes it into the final cut. This just happened to not make it in there,” he said in an Instagram video.

The more interesting part, though, was that he actually didn’t apply for the show at all—he was recruited by casting via Instagram direct message (scroll to the second slide on the above post to see a screenshot).

“I was out living on my own, and I didn’t seek this out. I had already been out on my own for a number of weeks at that point,” he said, making it clear that his engagement had ended and he was living alone when he received said DM.

I just can’t get over a casting producer DMing some random guy—whose Instagram presence was extremely sparse and not at all exciting—and being like, “OMG this is super random, but, wanna go on a dating show that potentially ends in marriage?” And he, recently single, was like, “Sure, cool!” Also, let’s notice that the message reads, “Heads up as well that we are in the final week of casting so there’s not much time left to get applications in.” They were desperate!

Lutiniski is not having it with the backlash. He also posted this lovely little note:

Meanwhile, his show fiancé Laura Dadisman is not doing much better. Lutiniski had fallen under fire before any of this prior engagement stuff broke for getting caught lying to Dadisman about hanging out with the other girl he was dating in the pods (and almost proposed to). She did a Q&A on her stories in which she made her feelings clear.

“Most days I’m good but this whole experience has been insanity and some days I’m not good. I would say most days recently I’m not good,” she said of watching it all play out.

I won’t entirely spoil the new episodes that dropped today, but I’ll leave you with this little line from Dadisman:

“Go kick rocks with open-toed fucking shoes.”
