We all agree that Pixar’s Brave, which opens today, should be called Brave of Tarth, right? Every time I see a photo of Princess Merida, the film’s frizzy, redheaded main character (voiced by the cute-as-a-bug Kelly MacDonald), I think of Lady Brienne from Game of Thrones. I’m not complaining. In fact, it’s a compliment, because as Brienne is a badass, so too is Merida.

She’s an archer, she doesn’t want to do SO MUCH LAUNDRY, and she’s Scottish. Scots are pretty metal, or whatever the old-timey version of metal is (“Wow, that’s such a lute thing to say”?). In honor of Merida’s awesomeness, here are Pixar’s 15 most badass female characters.

15. Sally Carrera from Cars/Cars 2

Needed to include at least one character from Cars. Might as well get it out of the way now.

#14. Gypsy from A Bug’s Life
