Marc Summers Is Rightly Pissed at the ‘Quiet on Set’ Producers

To make sure absolutely nothing gets twisted here, the disturbing behavior chronicled in the docuseries Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV happened years after Marc Summers wrapped up his time as the host of Nickelodeon’s Double Dare. He had absolutely nothing to do with Dan Schneider, so Summers was understandably pissed when he learned what the docuseries was really about while he was in the middle of filming what he thought was a program about the history of Nickelodeon. The beloved host claims he was “ambushed” and pulled the plug on the interview, which he asked not to be included in the series. The producers did not comply with that request and Summers makes an appearance saying positive things about Nick at the top of the series. Later, he’s shown being shocked at what Schneider was allowed to air on the network, which is when Summers realized he was in the middle of a “bait and switch.” Again, Marc Summers is 100%, completely clear of this entire situation, and the docuseries shows as much, so I can’t really blame the guy for not wanting to have his face shown in a documentary about child predators. The man proudly and respectfully entertained kids by giving out Nintendos to anyone who pulled a flag out of a giant nose filled with green slime. Let him be. (Variety)
