Just when the Kristi Noem dog-murdering scandal couldn’t get any worse, the South Dakota governor stopped by Face the Nation on Sunday where things did indeed get worse. In addition to admitting that she threw her dog Cricket in a gravel pit and shot him, along with a goat, Noem also put in writing that she wants to give Joe Biden’s dog Commander the same exact treatment. You cannot make this sh*t up. (Rolling Stone)

As Noem’s debacle unfolded, there was understandable speculation about how Republicans would react. They generally circle the wagons without fail, but dog murder seems to be one of the very few things that both parties agree is bad. Well, wonder no more. Noem is looking at the kiss of death from Trump, who is reportedly “disgusted” with her. Apparently, he’s baffled that she’d not only murder a dog, but write about it, and this is coming from a guy who can’t stop posting his way into contempt. Stepping on every single rake is Trump’s whole thing, and even his dumb ass has the wherewithal to skip over the dog murder one. (Mediaite)

Gen V will not recast Chance Perdomo’s role as Andre, which is pretty surprising considering Season 2 starts shooting any minute now and he’s a lead character. It can’t be that easy to write him out that quickly. (TVLine)

Tyson Motsenbocker’s account of walking California’s Camino Real after the death of his mother, Where the Waves Turn Back, got The Chancellor thinking about what it would look like if pilgrimages were a part of American life. “Would it remind us that everyone grieves? That everyone needs time to step away from the comforts and recenter themselves?” Have you made a journey that could be considered a pilgrimage? (Cannonball Read 16)
