Following Elon Musk’s total meltdown on Wednesday, where he vowed to never vote for the Democratic Party again and warned of political attacks coming his way, it really started to look like Musk was trying to get ahead of something. However, that something could’ve easily been the fact that he’s probably going to be forced to pay way too much for Twitter, but nope. A friend of a former Space X flight attendant has revealed that she was paid a $250,000 severance after Musk allegedly exposed himself to her and propositioned her with promises of a horse. Unfortunately, this will only make his legions of sycophants love him even more. If you’re stupid enough to think a diamond mine trust fund dork is some scientific genius, rationality jumped out of your deathtrap of an electric car a while ago. (Insider)

Minka Kelly and Trevor Noah broke up again, and I gotta admit I completely forgot they were even a thing. What a year. (Celebitchy)

From Dustin: For fuck’s sake: “Ms. Rogers told The News that after calling 911 while trying to hide from the gunman, she had whispered in hopes of continuing to elude his notice. The dispatcher, she said, had admonished her. “She was yelling at me, saying, ‘Why are you whispering? You don’t have to whisper,’” Ms. Rogers told The News, “and I was telling her, ‘Ma’am, he’s still in the store. He’s shooting. I’m scared for my life. I don’t want him to hear me. Can you please send help?’ She got mad at me, hung up in my face.” (NYT)

From Roxana: I really love Bilge Ebiri’s writing always, but his piece on Top Gun: Maverick is particularly good. “Maverick is a movie haunted by the image of its own star and of an America that may not exist anymore. Maverick moves through the film like a messenger from a dying world. As someone tells him early on, ‘The future is coming, and you’re not in it.’”(Vulture)

Charlie Cox is getting his own Daredevil series on Disney+, and I hope to god they pick up the Bullseye storyline from Season 3 but minus the Netflix bloat. (Variety)

In even more damning testimony against Johnny Depp, his inner circle revealed that he was already losing roles, hemorrhaging money, and blasted out of his mind way before the Amber Heard op-ed. If anyone is to blame for the state of Depp’s career, it’s Depp. (Daily Beast)

The Cannon Book Club discussion of Last Night at the Telegraph Club starts tomorrow on Cannonball Read. While jeverett15 didn’t like the book as a whole as well as some other reviewers, he says about the main character, "Lily Hu is a wonderful creation that the reader will truly invest in and feel for and Lo is to be celebrated for bringing her to life." If you have read the book, or are reading it now, visit the discussion and chime in. (Cannonball Read 14)
