Rahul Kohli is breaking into the prestige “rich white people murder drama” genre with We Were Liars. I’m not sure if we should be rooting for him to be the murderer, a victim, or just a handsome and innocent bystander.

Based on the novel by E. Lockhart, We Were Liars also stars Emily Alyn Lind (Doctor Sleep), Shubham Maheshwari, Esther McGregor (Babygirl), Joseph Zada, Caitlin FitzGerald (The Man Who Killed Hitler And Then The Bigfoot), Mamie Gummer, Candice King (The Vampire Diaries), and David Morse.

The series begins streaming on Prime on June 18th.

I’ve been pretty “meh” on the idea of a Happy Gilmore sequel since the teaser was released. Sandler’s more base comedies are funny in context with a specific era. And a lot of us have moved passed his brand of sophomoric humor. But the more I think about it, the more I’ve come to believe that this might be the perfect summer in-home movie. Dumb, loud, silly. A real distraction. I think I’m into it.

Happy Gilmore 2 brings back Julie Bowen, Kevin Nealon, Christopher McDonald, and Ben Stiller. Margaret Qualley, Bad Bunny, Kid Cudi, and Sunny Sandler join the cast.

Happy Gilmore 2 premieres on Netflix on July 25th.

I used to be cool and edgy. I used to do things like have watch parties for Faces of Death and Deliverance. Now, I mostly just want to curl up with a cozy blanket and watch murders solved in hour-long mysteries. I got old and the world is a hard place, sue me. No jury would convict me for wanting to watch The Thursday Murder Club based on the cast alone.

Pierce Brosnan, Helen Mirren, Daniel Mays (Des), Celia Imrie (The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel), Ben Kingsley, Tom Ellis (Lucifer, you’re welcome), David Tennant, Naomi Ackie (Blink Twice), Richard E. Grant, Jonathan Pryce, and Henry Lloyd-Hughes (Ragdoll) star in this charming looking series.

The Thursday Murder Club premieres on Netflix on August 28th.

I leave you this week’s lagniappe without comment:
