Many actors prefer to portray villains because they are usually complex, interesting characters. Jason Bateman has played his fair share of small-v villains throughout his career. Technically, he was the bad guy on Silver Spoons, you know. In Carry-On, Bateman graduates to a capital-V Villain and goes up against Taron Egerton in this festive thriller that will make you second guess your holiday travel plans.
Some of the best Christmas movies are action movies. OK, maybe just the Die Hard ones. We’ll see about this one.
Carry-On also stars Sofia Carson (Purple Hearts), Danielle Deadwyler (The Piano Lesson), Sinqua Walls (Friday Night Lights), and Logan Marshall-Green (Upgrade).
It premieres on Netflix on December 13th.
Ralph Fiennes has had a busy year. He’s in the recently released Conclave where he’s getting Oscar buzz. And next, he’ll star as the legendary Greek hero, Odysseus in The Return.
Juliette Binoche stars as Odysseus’ incredibly patient wife, Penelope, Charlie Plummer (Moonfall) as Telemachus, Marwan Kenzari (The Old Guard) as Antinous, and Ángela Molina as Eurycleia in this story about the soldier’s less than triumphant return to his home and his wife after the twenty-year Trojan War.
The Return opens in theaters on December 6th.
We love Margo Martindale around these parts. Now we can look forward to her being on our TVs in Prime Video’s upcoming The Sticky. The six-episode series is inspired by the true story of 2012’s “Great Canadian Maple Syrup Heist.” I did not know that was a thing, but I’m excited about this show.
Along with Martindale, The Sticky also stars Chris Diamantopoulos (Mrs. Davis), Guillaume Cyr, Gita Miller, Guy Nadon, and features Jamie Lee Curtis.
Episodes begin streaming on Prime Video on December 6th.
Honestly, we should have shut everything down as soon as Winnie The Pooh: Blood and Honey came out in 2022. Things have spiraled out of control and now there’s a horror spoof of Popeye coming out called Popeye The Slayer Man. When will this madness end?
