Last week’s trailer for Stephen King’s The Long Walk surpassed the trailer for Murderbot as the best trailer of the year so far. But look out, because here comes Bob Odenkirk with what is, at least in my mind, the new greatest trailer of 2025 (so far).
I wasn’t quite sold on the idea that they could make a sequel to Nobody work. That movie, after all, was mostly a VOD/streaming hit that capitalized on the dearth of films post-COVID. There have been a dozen John Wick knock-offs since, and Odenkirk himself nearly died of a heart attack.
And yet, here we are with a delightful combination of what Jen calls National Lampoon’s Vacation crossed with John Wick, where Odenkirk’s Nobody takes his family to a theme park and gets involved with some crooked locals. Sharon Stone plays the villain (to great comedic effect), Colin Hanks is the crooked cop, and there are a ton of amusement park props for director Timo Tjahjanto to play with. And “Holiday Road” seals the deal.
It’s a blast, or as Tori noted, “THIS MOVIE IS GOING TO BE GREAT, CINEMA IS BACK.”
Nobody hits theaters on August 15th.
