6 Things You Might Have Missed In That First 'Gilmore Girls' Trailer

Tuesday morning, the first trailer for Gilmore Girls: A Year In the Life dropped, and the internet went nuts.

As well it should have, too, since everything we’d seen up to this point had been less than encouraging. But these few minutes— the first actual footage from the show’s revival itself that we’d seen thus far— were beautiful. And in only two and half minutes we saw a LOT. In fact, here are a few tidbits you might have missed.

Lorelai and Luke are together, but probably not married.

Lorelai looks to be in therapy (or just has a female friend with a really nice sofa?), and talks about how she and Luke are “happy,” but things are “hazy.” Also, Luke is in the Gilmore’s kitchen, badgering them about their food choices.

So these two are together. And they were engaged, then not engaged, and then were probably back together (am I remembering that right?), but then what? Well, they may be together now, but for their previous engagement and all these years gone by, there’s no ring in this trailer.

Okay, but then what’s with the Al’s Pancake World cups?

If Luke and Lorelai are together, why are these two drinking Al’s inferior coffee?

What kind of Eat, Pray, Love trek is Lorelai on?

Either Netflix was trusting that audiences wouldn’t recognize the mountains of southern California, or Lorelai’s “hazy” life led her to hiking across the country. Let that sink in. Lorelai. Hiking.

What is Rory’s job?

We didn’t get an answer to this, but it was made clear that it’s a question. Last we saw Rory, she was heading off on the Obama bus. Now, she’s talking about being “rootless,” and we catch a glimpse of her waiting in line to what looks to be some sort of back alley Comic-Con.

Thanks, Obama.

Is Jess living in Stars Hollow?

Rory and Jess are commiserating together—

Podcast fans, there’s an awesome Easter egg in there just for you.

Anyone recognize these two Dragonfly Inn guests?

That’s Kevin T. Porter and Demi Adejuyigbe, the hosts of the insanely popular Gilmore Guys podcast! Just hanging out, drinking coffee, probably live tweeting, definitely squeeing like mad on the inside.
