That Anaconda Don't Want None, Period. Put It Down.
The Librarians on TNT at 8:00pm ET. Series premiere. TNT has made a series out of those made for TV movies where Noah Wyle went around slaying fantasy creatures with… books? I never really watched them. But it looks campy and fun if you’re into that sort of thing.
The Newsroom on HBO at 9:00pm ET. While I don’t watch the show, I understand last week’s episode leaned a little heavily towards the “Sanctimonious” end of the Sorkin meter. This is the penultimate episode of the series so lets see if he can swing that needle back around towards “Uplifting” or whatever it is that’s on the opposite side of the Sorkin meter.
Discovery Special: Eaten Alive on Discovery at 9:00pm ET. Two hour special presentation. This is the special where a dude wearing a specially designed suit is swallowed by an anaconda on purpose which means that Discovery may have finally beat out TLC for most ridiculous, stupid, and unnecessary televised stunt this year. So far they’re not saying how they got him out of the snake, so I guess that’s a reason to watch right at the end? I think it’s kind of mean to the snake. Poor thing thought it was getting a nice manwich for dinner, only to have its dinner cruelly ripped away from it somehow in the name of entertainment. I hope they gave it like a side of beef afterwards to say sorry. And yes, I feel more sympathy for the snake involved in all of this than any of the people. The snake did nothing to deserve this. The people, presumably, decided to be on this show of their own free will.
Bob’s Burgers on Fox at 9:30pm ET.
Revenge on ABC at 10:01pm ET. Fourth season fall finale.
Genevieve Burgess finds she frequently sympathizes with cold-blooded reptiles in the winter, but this is a fairly new and different reason for it.
