Over the past three years of Trump presidency, we’ve made a lot of jokes about how this darkest timeline feels like a hackneyed novel where the author is a sadist who belabors every point of just how bad and stupid the world can be. Then, America’s sweethearts Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson became the first celebrities to come forward with a Coronavirus diagnosis. Because of course.
While the world was shaken that this radiantly charming Hollywood power couple contracted the virus that has hordes hoarding toilet paper, the Hanks family is handling things calmly. To prove it, Hanks posted an update to Twitter last night.
The caption reads:
Rita Wilson and I would like to thank everyone Down Under for taking such good care of us. We have COVID-19 and are in isolation so we do not spread it to anyone else. There are those for whom it could lead to a very serious illness. We are taking it one-day-at-a-time. There are things we can all do to get through this by following the advice of experts and taking care of ourselves and each other, no? Remember, despite all the current events, there is no crying in baseball. Hanx.
