The Super Bowl happened! While I’m glad certain people will continue mourning the Great White Hope they think Taylor and Travis’s relationship should be, the important thing is I have a bunch of new movie trailers to share. So without further ado, here are the game’s movie spots:

A lot is riding on Ryan Reynolds’ and Hugh Jackman’s well-defined shoulders. The first Marvel movie to hit theaters since last November’s disappointing The Marvels — disappointing in box office returns, if not content — Shawn Levy’s Deadpool & Wolverine has the opportunity to inject fresh mutagenic DNA into the MCU’s collapsing veins. And it looks like Deadpool, living his best life, will do so as the newest agent of the Time Variance Authority (TVA), responsible for so many of Loki’s difficulties before Jonathan Majors became radioactive. All signs indicate Wade Wilson will be set loose on the multiverse, and it’s up to Logan to… help him? Stop him? Stab him over and over again? We’ll find out July 26.

I’m torn about Wicked. A lot of people are excited about the book and play finally making it to the silver screen, and they deserve good things. But can Ariana Grande do more than look vacant, and does she have the vocal chops to play against Cynthia Erivo? I assume Jon M. Chu, director of In the Heights and Crazy Rich Asians, knows something I don’t. This first part of Elphaba’s evolution into the Wicked Witch releases on Thanksgiving; its sequel arrives next year.

Speaking of movies based on other movies about tornadoes, classic weekend afternoon film Twister is getting a sequel, brilliantly titled Twisters. It stars Glen Powell, Daisy Edgar Jones, and Kiernan Shipka who are, no offense, a serious downgrade from Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton. But I’m always down to watch other people risk their lives during storms any sane man avoids, so I’m hoping it’s as thrilling, poignant, and funny as the original. It’s out on July 19.

I gave The Fall Guy trailer serious side-eye when it first dropped. I know the original series is trash, but it’s my trash. I used to sneak downstairs at 5 am on Saturday mornings to catch syndicated episodes before cartoons began. I was skeptical that any remake could charm me the same way, and the first trailer was too much exposition and not enough laughs. But this one-minute teaser is exactly what I needed. Ryan Gosling blends his Barbie and The Nice Guys performances into himbo brilliance, and I can’t get enough Emily Blunt. I’ll be seeing The Fall Guy on its May 3rd premiere.

I’m in a complicated relationship with Monkey Man trailers. All it takes is 5 seconds of fight scene footage, and I start giggling like a small child. But I want to go into the movie as unspoiled as possible, so I never watch them for long. If, on the other hand, you like whetting your appetite, here are 4 minutes of mayhem written, directed, and starring Dev Patel. I can’t wait for April 5.

Speaking of monkey men, there’s another ape movie. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes continues the tradition of awkward titles and intelligent apes dominating the world. Set several generations after Cesar’s passing, the planet is now dominated by the various ape species, and a vicious leader is set on building his own empire while one young ape looks for his freedom and discovers a history he never knew existed. It looks properly solemn, but it’s from the director of the Maze Runner movies, so… who knows.

Technically a TV promo, this next one is included for my eight-year-old son who adores the Sonic the Hedgehog movies, and since they’re pretty good I can’t blame him. Whether Paramount can strike gold a third time, particularly with a Paramount+ miniseries, remains to be seen. Knuckles stars Idris Elba as the echidna in question, Colleen O’Shaughnessey as Tails, and Adam Pally as dimwitted deputy Wade Whipple. The cast, in general, looks great but noticeably missing from the credits are Ben Schwartz and James Marsden, on whom the movies depended for their charm. But I live in hope!

Imaginary friends are having a big moment, with two separate films based on children’s fantasies coming out soon. The first, Imaginary, is out this March and looks guaranteed to give your kids nightmares. The second, IF, is written and directed by John Krasinski and stars Ryan Reynolds, Cailey Fleming, Fiona Shaw, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Louis Gossett Jr., and Steve Carell. Do not confuse the two. IF looks cute enough that even my too-cool daughter wants to see it with her family, and I’ll take anything that promises more quality Smudge time. IF is out this May.

Speaking of kid-friendly minions, Gru and his minions are back! We didn’t highlight the trailer when it dropped a few weeks ago because kid flick pieces never do well with our wider audience, but their AI-art promo gives me an excuse to post the full-length trailer. And I don’t care how much of an honorary Boomer it makes me, I love those little yellow bastards. Gru and Lucy have a baby, and Gru gets to experience all those new dad moments for the first time, like when your child wants nothing to do with you because Mommy exists. This time the villain is Maxime Le Mal, voiced by Will Ferrell. Hijinks ensue, as we’ll see on July 12.
