Josh Hartnett Is a Dad Trapped in a Pop Concert in the Trailer for M. Night Shyamalan's 'Trap'

A few weeks ago, I took my daughters to an Olivia Rodrigo concert. Honestly, it was a blast, and not just because Rodrigo puts on a great show. It’s fun to remember the level of enthusiasm kids have for musicians before the world stomps joy out of them.

I would not, however, want to be trapped in a pop concert because the police were holding thousands of people captive in order to catch a serial killer. That’s the premise, apparently, of M. Night Shyamalan’s next film, which stars Josh Hartnett, who has reached the Dad of a teenager stage of his career. It suits him. The fun twist here is that the Dad is actually the serial killer, which means Hartnett gets to play hot Dad and … hot killer?

Trap hits theaters on August 7th.
