Enough is enough! I tell ya, a guy can’t walk around Hollywood and believe what he believes anymore. Do you want the government telling you where to drive and how to eat? Of course not! You’re a sensible human being, who cleans their own meat, harvests milk from wherever they want, and isn’t scared of the Big “Doctor” (you know the one). You’re a regular Joe. You’re tired of getting treated like a pariah. Well, Tim Allen is right there with ya, pal.
“You’ve got to be careful around here. You’re going to get beat up if you don’t believe what everybody believes. This is like ’30s Germany,” Allen once said on a late-night talk show he was invited to due to his celebrity status. The man was cooking! Yet think of all he has lost since! They made a Buzz Lightyear movie without him even though he originated the character. And no, it doesn’t matter that it was essentially a different character and that Allen will return to voice Buzz in Toy Story 5, so don’t bring it up!
Allen is a sitcom mega-star. He was the star of two long-running comedy shows. The man has starred in the funniest movies you’ve seen, like For Richer Or Poorer and Christmas With The Kranks. Tim still does standup, which helped him break onto the scene to begin with. The man is a movie star! He’s famous across the world. He plays f***ing Santa Claus! It is time for his punishment to end!
That won’t happen, though. Deadline is reporting that Allen’s new show, Shifting Gears, has been picked up to series on ABC. Can you imagine?! Can … Wait, hold on… That sounds like a good thing. Is he getting another sitcom? What’s the description like? According to Deadline, the comedy “centers on Matt (Allen), the stubborn, widowed owner of a classic car restoration shop. When Matt’s estranged daughter Riley (Kat Dennings) and her kids move into his house, the real restoration begins.”
Kat Dennings is in it with him?? Also, this sounds like something that would be right up his alley! It’s on ABC, which is Disney, so they still clearly like him. The showrunners and creators of the show are leaving, but aside from that, this just seems like a sweet deal for Allen.
Look, I know his quote was from almost seven years ago, but Jesus Christ. He was just re-tweeting nonsense about the Olympics opening ceremony. He hasn’t changed! Is it possible that Hollywood is more conservative now than it was during Trump’s presidency? One guy sure is trying to make it so. And all jokes aside, no matter how long ago he said it, Allen’s comparison was horrendous and deserves to be brought up as long as he still works in the place he claimed persecutes people like him.
Y’all, I think I misspoke. Tim Allen is doing fine. He was doing fine when he complained on Kimmel (which airs on ABC). He’s not being treated any differently because of his conservative views. If he’s being treated differently, we all know the real reason.
