Casey Wilson Says Tim Allen Is a Bitch

Not that I needed another excuse to dislike Tim Allen — his Boomer Santa show and notoriously thin skin were enough — but Happy Endings’ Casey Wilson provided exactly that on a recent episode of her “Bitch Sesh” podcast when she described his on-set behavior with her, the regular cast, and the crew. Wilson took part in The Santa Clauses’ pilot episode in 2022. In the scene, she wakes up and discovers Santa creeping around her home.

“So I’m in a scene. It’s just me and Tim Allen and I’m supposed to throw things at him,” Wilson remembered. “I think he’s a burglar. So he’s coming down the chimney, obviously as Santa, and I am woken up thinking there’s an intruder, basically like a home invasion scene. So I’m throwing things at him. [He] goes over to the producer who is standing four feet from me and goes, and I hear him, he goes, ‘You gotta tell her to stop stepping on my lines.’ The producer turns to me with horror on his face and has to walk one foot to me and he goes, ‘Um, Tim would ask that you stop stepping on his lines.’”

In Penny Hartz we trust. She also noted his primo uomo behavior with the rest of the cast and crew.

“It’s the end, and Tim Allen goes, ‘Leaving!,’ takes his Santa cape, picks it up and drops it on the floor and walks out,” Wilson added. “And they hustle in his stand-in; lovely man, who was much nicer to act against. People are scurrying to pick up his velvet Santa coat. He’s a bitch. And this is the best… I will not say who said this. This was someone that I do not know, perhaps in the crew. [He or she] breezes past me and just goes, ‘You’re seeing him on a good day.’”

And that was during the pilot. It’s unlikely his behavior has improved since. Wilson said she hadn’t spoken about this earlier — The Santa Clauses just finished airing its second season — because she’s good friends with one of the show’s producers, and her kids loved the original movies. Apparently, now was the best time to call Tim Allen a bitch, and I’m here for it.

Nostalgia is all well and good, and I’m as big a fan of The Santa Claus and Galaxy Quest as the rest of my generation who first saw them during their impressionable youth. But it sure looks like Jason Nesmith was less a performance and more a reenactment of Allen’s own professional behavior. I’m surprised he’s not part of The Daily Wire’s newest animated trainwreck, Mr. Birchum. Jay Mohr, Patrick Warburton, Danny Trejo, and Rob Riggle have already disappointed me by joining the cast. Maybe Allen’s waiting until the inevitable cancellation of The Santa Clauses to join up — the second season dropped without fanfare or even promotion, so I can’t imagine Disney picking it up for a third.
