Meghan McCain Is Not Like Other Nepo Babies: Violet Affleck Edition

Folks, I’m going to be real with you. I’m not even supposed to be here today, but so many people alerted me about MY FATHER’s latest public humiliation that there’s practically a Meghan-shaped beacon in my front yard. Is it weird that she’s my legacy now? Yes, very, and I have so many regrets. Anyway, let’s do this thing.

Violet Affleck delivered a speech to the UN on the effects of long COVID this week, and while I have concerns about the T*yl*r L*r*nz vibes happening here, I’m a rational adult who realizes this is a young woman with her heart in the right place. Meghan McCain does not have a similar filter. Why not? Well, it’s been a while since she sonic boomed these words into Joy Behar’s ear canal, but her father is John McCain. Meghan says what she wants when she wants because she has Maverick blood coursing through her veins. Being a McCain means never having to make sense.

However, in a surprisingly self-aware move, Meghan realized she went too far, but not fast enough. Her now-deleted tweet has already been blasted all over the internet courtesy of Entertainment Weekly:

“Every single thing about all of this is why people hate nepo babies so much,” McCain, 40, wrote in the post, which was only public for a matter of minutes before the former View cohost and conservative political commentator took it down.

McCain — who lists “nepo baby” in her X bio — continued, saying that she felt Violet “has no business speaking at the UN,” adding that “what she is speaking about is patently absurd.”

I’ll hand it to Meghan for one thing: People do hate nepo babies, but mostly the ones who refuse to acknowledge that their entire lives were handed to them by their famous parents. Like, for example, a “political pundit” who would have never gone further than a Wordpress blog if she hadn’t rocketed out of a United States senator into an old-money beer heiress. What you peasants don’t understand is that Meghan built her career all by herself with the type of insight and analysis that you can only glean from being fired by your dad’s campaign for being a spoiled brat. They don’t teach that at your liberal colleges!

If all of this sounds very familiar, that’s because Meghan barreled down this path before like the boulder from Raiders of the Lost Ark if it were made of Jell-O shots and red meat. Back in December 2023, Meghan literally said she’s not like other nepo babies and is “the exception” while taking a swing at Hunter Biden. It was easily the most revealing look into her psyche.

Apparently, Meghan exists in a dream world where she only used her last name for good things, like a million-dollar contract with ABC. That’s super different from all of the other nepo babies, who were just handed opportunities because of their parents. How? We’ve been over this. HER FATHER IS JOHN MCCAIN. God.
