I always forget that Madame Web and Gwyneth Paltrow’s ex-husband have been romantically involved since 2017. For celebrities in love, Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin are pretty damn low-key; they’ve never walked the red carpet together or even posted a cute couple pic to social media. But that doesn’t mean they’re not in love! According to a report from the Mirror, 34-year-old Dakota and 47-year-old Chris are officially engaged.
A source tells the Mirror:
“The couple got engaged a while ago and have kept the news private. But now they are being open about it with their circles. They have been besotted with each other from day one so taking this next step was inevitable. They are in no rush to plan the wedding but are just enjoying making their commitment official.”
Rumors of an engagement have been swirling for years. Way back in 2020, Dakota stepped out wearing this giant green rock on her engagement ring finger:

Dakota rarely talks about her relationship with Chris, but, just a couple days ago, she talked about their life together in an interview with Bustle. She told the magazine that she loves watching Chris perform with Coldplay: “I’m watching my most favorite being do his most favorite thing.” Dakota also loves Apple (19 years old!) and Moses Martin (17!!) like her “life depends on it. With all my heart.”
The Mirror’s insider makes sure to note that Chris and Dakota have the full blessing of Gwyneth Paltrow. Phew! An endorsement from Goop can make or break any marriage/bullsh** “wellness” product. FYI, it’s been exactly ten years since Gwyneth and Chris’ iconic separation announcement. Ten. Years.
Last year, 51-year-old Gwyneth did an Instagram Q&A, and a fan asked, “What is your relationship like with Dakota Johnson?” She answered, “We’re actually very good friends… I love her so much.” Then, she posted this pic of her and Dakota holding hands:
Congrats to Dakota and Chris (if this is true). Hopefully the pair remain consciously coupled for the rest of their days.
