Scandoval is nearly a year old now, and exes Ariana Madix and Tom Sandoval still live together in the Los Angeles house they co-own.
Loyal Vanderpump Rules fans will remember the purchasing of said home. The year was 2019 and all the couples from the show—Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix, Tom Schwartz and Katie Maloney, and Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright—all bought identical houses in the San Fernando Valley. Each of the houses was featured on the show at one point or another, though you wouldn’t have been able to tell them apart if the owners weren’t in them, because in 2019 the height of architectural design was vertical, white siding and black windows and trim. It was like all of their real estate agents were shopping from the same Sears catalog.
Anyway, we first learned that Madix and Sandoval were still living together when the other half of Scandoval, Rachel Leviss, said so on Bethenny Frankel’s podcast in the summer. This was after there had been paparazzi photos of Madix seemingly moving out.
But Madix went on Watch What Happens Live recently and said she’d been back and forth between the house and an Airbnb while competing on Dancing With the Stars. She told Andy Cohen that she and Sandoval live in different rooms and only communicate through their assistants. She also made it clear that she very much wanted to sell the house and that Sandoval was the one dragging his feet.
Now, she’s suing him to force his hand. According to the filing, Madix is asking for a “partition by sale,” meaning she wants a judge to formally order the sale and then divide the proceeds evenly. That is distinct, however, from a “division in kind,” which would mean they both retain their separate ownership of the property and could sell their stake to a third party if they wanted to.
Basically, she wants out, and she wants him out, and she doesn’t want him to make more money getting out then she does. Fair enough.
