I am a sucker for a good mash-up. Right now I’m an especially big fan of the video remixes that abound on the internet. A lot of them are absolute trash, yes, but sometimes you stumble upon a work of such inspired genius that it makes you want to track down its creator and buy them a beer or six.

The owner of the YouTube channel ANTONIO MARIA DA SILVA AMDSFILMS is one such creator. In his ‘Hell’s Club’ video, he has done something that just blows me away. He has mashed up a huge amount of clips and characters from the vast catalogue of movie nightclub scenes, and created a semi-coherent narrative from it all. Bathed it all in an atmospheric (and edit masking) red glow, this video will really take you somewhere. You want escapism? This is absolutely top notch escapism. A sanguine fever dream. Enjoy:
