In case you can’t tell, Ridley Scott’s Exodus: Gods and Kings will be an epic retelling of Moses (Christian Bale) leading the Hebrews out of Egypt. Your clues to the upcoming film’s epical nature are a) the music, b) the title in all caps, and c) because this featurette tells you approximately 9,000 times (slight exaggeration). First, the man himself — director Ridley Scott — announces his film is epic in scale. Then the production designer talks about the “immense production;” then Scott talks the massive scale again. THIS FILM IS BIG AND MASSIVE AND BOOM BOOM, DO YOU HEAR THE DRUMS? Haven’t gotten the picture yet? Let Ridley tell you how many people are here, there and everywhere…thousands! Don’t worry what color they are, LOOK AT JOEL EDGERTON’S MAKE-UP JOB — HE IS TOTES NOT A WHITE MAN ANYMORE. “It’s quite elaborate and the biggest film I’ve ever done,: (production designer). “It’s pretty amazing,” (Ridley Scott). Cue the all caps title again.
Seriously, though, you should watch this. It’s gonna be an epic film.
Exodus: Gods and Kings stars Christian Bale, Joel Edgerton, Aaron Paul, Sigourney Weaver, Ben Kingsley, John Turturro, Indira Varma and Ben Mendelsohn. It will crush theaters starting December 12th.
