Back in Breaking Bad’s second season (coincidentally, right before Saul Goodman was introduced), “Negro y Azul” opened with an amusing music number about the legend of a certain gringo, and his predicted fate. While at the time it was still hard to believe who Walter White had become, the song was pretty accurate. Gilligan and Breaking Bad writing partner, Peter Gould are back as creators of the time-jumping, semi-prequelish Better Call Saul, as well as the lyric-writers for this delightful, new music video performed by country artist, Junior Brown. We already knew our old pal Saul Goodman’s moral compass runs a little wonky (yeah bitch, magnets!), but as this little ditty reminds, for the right price, he’ll help a client with pretty much anything, including smuggling a George Foreman grill out of Walmart, a disappeared husband, and even — er — child abduction. Oh, Saul…
That’s a damned catchy tune. Just when I thought I was out, man…
Better Call Saul stars Bob Odenkirk, Michael McKean and Jonathan Banks, and will air sometime in 2015.
