In the States, Tatiana Maslany has rightfully received an extraordinary amount of attention for her impeccable portrayal of several different characters on Orphan Black. Perhaps overlooked, however, has been the amazing performance of Jordan Gavaris, who plays Sarah’s foster brother. Along with Allison, Felix provides most of the comic relief in Orphan Black as an outrageous, often over-the-top gay man.
How does Gavaris respond to accusations that Felix might be an offensive stereotype? Most excellently, and with an accent and demeanor that kind of blew my mind because it demonstrates just how different Gavaris is from his character, which again illustrates what a outstanding job he’s doing on the show. It explains why he won a Gemini (or Canadian Emmy) for best supporting actor.
Compare that to the character he plays in Orphan Black .
