Stephen Colbert Broke Character Just Long Enough to Share a Nice Moment with Guest Jon Stewart

To be honest, there’s not much to the two-part interview between Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert on The Colbert Report that we haven’t already heard. I think I have read or listened to a dozen interviews with Stewart this week while he’s out promoting Rosewater, and I’ve actually heard the guy repeat some of the same stories, and use many of the same lines. I’m not complaining, but it makes one appreciate how grueling these press weeks must be.

I don’t know if Colbert was his last stop, but by the end, even Stewart is bleary-eyed and clearly tired of talking about himself and his movie. However, he and Colbert shared a nice moment in the final seconds.

“I’m so glad you’re on my show before the show is over,” said Colbert. “This is so lovely.”

If you don’t want to watch it all, skip to the end of part 2 for the moment, or just look at the header photo and imagine hearing Colbert say the above.
