Cincinnati Bengals defensive tackle Devon Stills was recently reinstated to his team after taking off time to be with his sick four year old daughter, Leah. Diagnosed with neuroblastoma in June, Leah was given a 50-50 chance of survival. On their way to tumor-removal surgery this past Thursday, Stills gave his little one a sweet pep-talk:
The tumor was successfully removed by at team at Children’s Hospital of Philidelphia; Leah now faces rounds of chemotherapy, radiation and stem-cell transplants that doctors hope will regenerate healthy bone marrow.
The Bengals have been selling jerseys to support their teammate and Children’s Hospital; so far they’ve raised over $100,000.
Sending out all the good thoughts for little Leah…
