Judd Apatow Ranting At the Critics' Choice Awards Is the Most I've Ever Liked Judd Apatow

At this weekend’s Critics’s Choice Awards, Judd Apatow was brought on to present the MVP Award to Amy Schumer. Normally, of course, a presenter comes out, says an awkward joke and some kind words, and then steps to the side. But Apatow seems to have entered his full on Old Crotchety Man stage, and he is embracing it fully and delightfully. Before talking about Schumer, he took the opportunity to air a few grievances.

Apatow’s got a LOT of problems with those people. There are nutjob protestors, and that Tremblay kid made him feel too many feelings; but his biggest problem is with Matt F*cking Damon.

Namely, how Damon feels he can just waltz into the Golden Globes, put The Martian up in the comedy or musical category, and walk away with an award. Apatow’s award. Goddamn Damon.

I can’t remember the last time I liked Judd Apatow this much. Although, to be fair, the best line of the night still goes to Alan Yang, hands down.
