Jimmy Kimmel Is Really Proud Of His YouTube Gamer Death Threats

According to Jimmy Kimmel, making people mad is his favorite thing (after pizza). And if that’s his thing, he’s found the perfect group to target: gamers. Jimmy has taken to insulting video games as a waste of time and watching live streams of gaming as a double waste of time. Earlier this week he read a bunch of comments that were left on the segment where he says those things, and then last night he read more comments in response to THAT video of him reading the first comments.

Now, as Jimmy points out, a lot of gamers are super nice, respectful people. But many— especially those who leave comments on YouTube videos— are not.

I’m glad Kimmel is outing the dickishness of YouTube gaming comments, but I wish he weren’t so quick to write these people all off as 12-year-old boys. Because, yes, sure, many of them are, but maybe someone needs to remind Jimmy that men and women in the gaming community are still getting harassed and threatened and doxxed and swatted every day.
