Idris Elba...Sings? 'No Good Deed' Actor Announces 'Mandela' Inspired Album

I’m not sure this is the way to come back from what Dustin called “pointless, fucking bullshit”, (this is), but our old pal Luther just announced he’s working on mi Mandela, an album inspired by his experiences playing the South African leader in last year’s Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom. While that may be a lovely idea, when I read the news my first thought was simply, “Idris Elba sings?” — and then I ran off to YouTube to see what I could find.

Guys, it isn’t good.

I mean, it’s not horrible either…but let’s just say ‘Driis” should probably stick to his main career.

And thus ends the morning I discovered Idris Elba sings. I think I need more coffee.

mi Mandele will feature guest appearances by Mumford & Sons, Maverick Sabre, Mr Hudson, and James Blake; look for a November release.
