In a report about how the Dodd-Frank law would require that companies disclose the pay ratios between their CEO and their employees, Fox News host Kennedy Montgomery revealed that she has no fucking idea what slut shaming means. Noting that the rule would pressure companies to lower the salaries of their CEO, Montgomery said that the backers of the law are “essentially trying to slut shame into paying their highest paid employees less.”
But it’s not just Kennedy Montgomery. Co-host Andrea Tantaros agreed, noting “Slut-shaming companies is not the job of the U.S. government.”
What now? Can a company be slut shamed? I mean, I realize that plenty of companies whore themselves to turn a profit, but the way that Fox News seems to be using the terms suggests that the government is shaming companies for blowing their CEOs.
Oh wait, nevermind. That actually sounds about right. My bad.
Note, also, that though you may not recognize her, Kennedy Montgomery is actually “Kennedy,” the 90s MTV VJ. She should really know better. Also, what the f*ck is she doing on Fox News?
