Can You Tell a 'Game of Thrones' Sword From an 80s Metal Band?
While we’re in that in-between time before Winter comes back, the Game of Thrones cast has a fun game for us, which also happens to support a really great cause. The show has teamed up with Omaze (the same group behind that awesome Harrison Ford surprise Skype video and last week’s lunch date with Chris Pratt) for a chance to win a spot at the new season’s Los Angeles premiere and after-party, with a contest that benefits the International Rescue Committee. The IRC “is the only international relief agency responding on all fronts to the refugee crisis in Europe and the Middle East: inside war-torn Syria, in neighboring host countries, in Greece and Serbia where refugees enter Europe, and in the United States where they resettle refugees from around the world.”
To launch the contest, the cast played a game called Swords or Metal Bands. The premise is exactly what it sounds like: they have to guess if names like “Crimson Death” belong to a Game of Thrones sword or to an ’80s metal band. A lot of them do not fare very well. Except Lena Headey, who takes this all VERY seriously, and Sophie Turner, who may miss a few, but will clearly never forget the name Hearteater.
