There’s something about being both earnestly very good at something and paradoxically being the absolute wrong people to be doing it that makes this rap battle between Anne Hathaway and James Corden difficult to watch. I wanted to appreciate the diss lines, but they made my teeth ache. Right around the time that Hathaway utters the line “Hatha-slay,” I involuntarily spasmed into into a full-body cringe contortion so hard that I may have broken by cheekbone on my shoulder blade.
Rap battles are officially dead now.
