Sometimes a music video is so much more than just putting pictures to a song. The message you may have gotten listening is amplified, or completely changed. (I hadn’t heard this song or any of Reflektor until tonight; now that I’ve seen this, I *need* to go listen to the whole thing, so good on you David Wilson.) For Arcade Fire’s just released We Exist, a song about “a guy coming out to his father,” Andrew Garfield’s poignant, wordless, chill-inducing performance is at first a little heartbreaking, then exhilarating. All I have to say after watching is: beautiful.
