In latest Favorite Thing Ever news, Aimee Mann has a new music video in which she plays the common cold. It’s a love story, see, between the brilliant scientist (David Wain) and the virus he turned his back on. It’s a love that could never be. And there’s amazing headwear involved. Plus, a Dave Foley cameo.

That amazing hat — was there more to the video than just a hat? I was too mesmerized to notice — was done by the same guy (Andy Byers) who did the costumes for Green Porno. So that makes sense.

The song will be on an album of comedic songs coming out this summer, benefitting the charity OneKid OneWorld.
