There’s plenty of horrific news in the world today, and if you’d like a dose of that, you can find it … almost anywhere else at the moment. But it’s also Friday, which means a new Ted Lasso episode, which hopefully also means that the tiresome backlash will fade.
I am not interested in talking about that this morning, however. I’d prefer to stick with something light. For instance, what does Brett Goldstein — who plays the grump with the teddy bear center, Roy Kent — look like when he smiles? I’m not talking about a grin. I’m talking about a big smile with teeth, which is a bit like seeing Ron Swanson without his mustache. I scanned all of the photos of Goldstein available to use from Getty images, and these are the only two examples I could find:

Whoa. That’s weird. I feel like my center of gravity has been knocked askew. Is the Earth still on its axis? It ain’t right.
Another question I had this morning was exactly how tall is Hannah Waddingham, who plays Rebecca Welton on Ted Lasso? There’s not a lot of reliable intel on that online, although one site unofficially lists her at 5’11. Does this look like 5’11?

Maybe we need another photo to do a thorough inspection?

Hmmm. It’s hard to tell how tall a person is without some perspective. You know what? Juno Temple is 5’2. Let’s see what Hannah Waddingham looks like next to Juno Temple.

Is that a nine-inch difference? That looks right. Let’s add some more perspective here. Jason Sudeikis is listed at 6’1. How does that look compared to 5’11 Hannah Waddingham and 5’2 Juno Temple?

Huh. That’s weird. Why does 5’11 suddenly look two inches taller than 6’1? I’m sure there’s an explanation for that! Oh yes. Yes, there is! It’s called heels.

And there you go! Now you know what Roy Kent’s teeth look like and that Hannah Waddingham is tall but maybe not as tall as Jason Sudeikis.
