If it feels like it’s been a long time since the first season of Amazon’s Reacher, it’s because it has. The first season kicked off in February 2022, and I have no idea why it’s taken so long for the second season to premiere. That first season, however, was one of last year’s genuine television delights: An immensely entertaining action series that wasn’t dumb, that featured an unexpectedly charismatic lead in relative newcomer Alan Ritchson, and a fun supporting cast, including iZombie’s Malcolm Goodwin and Willa Fitzgerald.
The trailer for the second season has now arrived. “Reacher is pulled from his vagabond life by a coded message informing him that a member of the 110th - his elite group of Army Special Investigators - has been murdered,” reads the logline. “He and some of his former military cohorts reunite to investigate and soon realize the case is bigger than they ever could have imagined.”
It is, as the 11-year-old neighbor kid who I drive to school every morning likes to say 12 times an hour, “straight bussin’, no cap.”
The new season kicks off on December 15th.
