This is not an NFL site, and I don’t cover the NFL, which is why I’m burying this post behind the Colbert post. All the same, it is huge news in the NFL world, and news that gives me mixed feelings. On the one hand, I can’t wait to watch the Patriots suck without Brady. On the other hand, I really wanted to watch the Patriots suck with Brady. Either way, Tom Brady and Bill Belichick will no longer be on the same team, which is kind of Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine breaking up.
This feels good. This may be the sole highlight of the next six weeks.

Brady, who is 42 and held together by chewing gum, hair gel, and cellophane tape, will test the free-agent market now. Last I heard, Tampa Bay was the leading contender for his services.
The real winner in all of this, of course, is Andrew Luck, who retired last season with no apparent long-term damage to his health and millions of dollars.
