It’s really difficult to keep late-night talk show hosts away from an audience. Over the weekend, after production shut down on Conan, O’Brien had Andy Daly on his podcast for a special Coronavirus edition (it was fantastic, and though it is entirely about Coronavirus, it nevertheless had wonderful anxiety-reduction effects). Stephen Colbert couldn’t even stay away from the camera one night, as he appeared last night from his bathtub to deliver a 10-minute “Social Distancing” installment of The Late Show.

Basically, it’s a Colbert monologue minus a studio audience and set in a bubble bath, where he criticized Donald Trump’s somber press conference yesterday, gave us a refresher on flattening the curve, and showed us a can of beans. Like you do.

Can someone tell me what’s going on with his lip? Is that slight facial growth, bad lighting, or bubble bath? Who knows? In the meantime, check in tomorrow and maybe Colbert will be on from a different room in his house, hopefully with better acoustics.
